Equality Act News 2024 Today. The update follows a change to the law made by the worker protection (amendment of equality act 2010) act, which will have effect from 26 october 2024. The equality act 2010 (amendment) regulations 2023 (amendment regulations) came into effect on 1 january 2024.
Under the party’s plans a new race equality act would enshrine in law the full right to equal pay for black, asian and ethnic minority people, as well as disabled people. The conservatives have promised to rewrite the equality act so that protections it enshrines on the basis of a personโs sex apply only to their biological sex.
